Publink is a project that aims to develop new tools and integrate existing tools into a unified online platform in the field of Digital Publishing. The aim is to make the platform available to researchers and operatives in the field as well as to assist in the digital production process here at the BH. I am working closely with the publications manager Elisa Bastianello in this endeavour.
We are currently approximately halfway through the program and have recently successfully applied for the project to be renewed for another 18 months until mid 2026. An online 'pluggable' interface has been designed and implemented and several useful tools have been developed and / or integrated into the system. The tool is currently used in the publication pipeline at the BH and has approximately doubled the speed of journal production here. The system was demonstrated at the recent Hypertext conference and was well received.  Several suggestions from the publishing community have arisen from this interaction and we hope to pursue some of these in the second phase of the project.
